Hello, In comparison to Storm X7, would it feel as upgrade Rockrider race 540 (size XL)? As adviced in this forum in 2022 🙂 I bought Indiana Storm X7 (size 21) and it is still good for me, with no significant problems. My son now is 18 (187 cm, 60 kg) and he drived last year old but quite fast Insera hybrid bike on asphalt bike paths or my Storm X7 to the forest for occasional leisure trips with friend. He liked Storm X7 for comfort and good brakes. I would like to buy as birthday present a bike for him, intended for short and long leisure trips city /forest, no extremes, no jumping, comfort and speed balance. In comparison to Storm X7, would it feel fo him an upgrade Rockrider race 540 (size XL)?, looks esthetically for me quite fashionable:), also has carbon seatpost . Other consideration for 900 eur is Radon JEALOUS AL 8.0 2024 (size 22)with better brakes, and a bit lighter, but probably more rigid and less comfortable, or maybe Stevens Devil’s Trail 22" https://allegro.pl/produkt/rower-mtb-stevens-devil-s-trail-rama-22-cale-kolo-29-f-f-f offerId=18363762406 which is only 3000zl i and "on paper" looks better than Storm X7 or Race 540. Other problem I did not measure his legs, but they are a bit shorter than average, with a bit longer hands than average. Unfortunately as we all are in EU, we can not avoid VAT :). I started to think about increasing budget to 1000 eur , so maybe the best option is Indiana storm X10 with even Carbon frame - is it good?

Unfortunately Storm X7 is not available for sale online (only available in phisical Mediaexpert store in Żuromin), so I will have to choose something else within 900 eur budget On my current old GT 26-inch 3x8 drive I often used : on plain gravel roads front drive 42 teeth and rear drive 16 (rate 2,62) on plain asphalt roads front drive 42 teeth and rear drive 14 (rate 3,0) the same rates are probably true for 29 inch wheels and I think I need at least 3,0 rate with 1x drivetrain or better 2x probably it is not so expensive to change front drive to 34 teeth so maybe it is still worth considering these dicounted Specialised and Cannondale options from Weeblestore? as I understood "Cannondale has lousy fork RockShox Judy Silver TK" vs better Specialiceds RockShox Judy suspension fork - how much will I feel the difference on a bumpy gravel road? and Cannodale 1x12 drive with 11/51 cassette is better uphill than Specializeds 1x10 with 11/42 I am not extreme driver so far, probably these brakes would be enough for me, I felt quite comfortable with my old mechanical disk brakes branding is not so important for me, but other Polish brands are also not cheap if you try to find something with a Boost through axles and 29 wheels and Rockshocks and Deore.
